3 days of driving through 6 states. This was no slouch of a ride, folks!
... continued ...
We saw some of the most amazing scenery, picked up the coolest junk, ate the best food, stayed in the nicest rooms, all while being safely navigated by the GM crew and OnStar.
So what is OnStar anyway you ask?
Do you have a GPS? OnStar is kinda like that but with loads more to it...
OnStar is an emergency, navigation AND hands free calling system that can connect to most any vehicle by means of a specialty equipped rear view mirror.
You can make phone calls hands free with the push of one button.
You can have OnStar unlock a door for you.
You can start your vehicle from inside a building.
You can call for roadside emergency help.
You can get directions to the nearest Starbucks. :)
Check out Traci's video to watch her use it for real!
The GMC Yukon's navigation system screen is an added feature which is separate from OnStar, yet worked together. We were able to sync the iPhones to the system to play music as well!
Having OnStar aboard our trip with real voices on the other end was actually quite a comfort when you're stuck in the middle of Nowhere, USA. And we ended up doing that a fair bit. :D Thank-you OnStar for getting us out of some sticky situations!
Next up... morphing the junk into works of art!
all road trip updates are HERE
