Party starts Fri night and ends Sunday 11pm pacific, so you have all weekend to join!

I'll be featuring SNS highlights during the weekend on FJI Facebook, so join in and see what they're all saying about your stuff. :)

this weekend's theme

~ Pets in our homes ~

They mosey around like they own the place.

And enhance your decor while they're at it.

They can melt your troubled heart in the blink of an eye.

And are loyal to a fault.

They can prove to you they can (sort of) get along when nature didn't plan for it.

Their innocent little faces are so sweet you could survive on their cuteness alone.

God made some with irresistible cashmere like fur so we'd smother them to both their and your hearts content.

They always follow wherever you go. Simply because they adore you.

Sadly, our little furry friends will not live forever.

So it's important to capture them at their best while they are with us.

Thanks for those of you that chose to do that this weekend. You will never regret it.

Please click both plays below at the same time to view our pet slide show with music.

(subscribers, you'll need to visit the blog for viewing)

This link up is in honor of my 18 year old guy that passed on last week.

I miss him something fierce. But believing he's being well looked after until I can meet up with him again is keeping me strong. "See you on the flip side, big guy!"

Please link up your special pet posts in this weekend's 3rd themed linkup. I can't wait to see who's making your heart sing these days. :)

~ next up ~

traditional picture frames used creatively - May 27

tool boxes you have or made - June 4

patio decor - June 11

*the order of this list is subject to change: please check weekly for the new theme.

Be sure to check the themed linkups master list to add your newest creations anytime.
They're always open.
List HERE.

~ SNS blah blah linkup rules ~

1. Please link up your intended post, NOT your blog homepage url. (post, then click the title of your post, then cut and paste that url)

 2. Please put a link in your post (button or text) that leads back to the party so others can see what's up. (see BUTTONS label under main blog header)

 3. This party is geared for DIY type projects we can all attempt to make ourselves. Items for sale may be linked up IF your entry is posted on your blog and in tutorial style.

4. For Home Decor and Crafts, Sewing, Cooking, please link projects up that are new to SNS and/or within 1 month old. Repeat linkups will be removed.

The 3rd weekly themed link may have older posts and not brand new to SNS and will remain open for your new additions at any time. Click HERE for the main list.

If you can't decide which category to enter yours in, please just pick ONE and go with it. It's all good!

 5. By linking up to SNS, you approve to being highlighted on FJI Facebook, added to the themed linkups and for possible future features on Funky Junk Interiors' blog without additional permission required unless your post states otherwise.

Come on over and see if we're talking about you this weekend. :)

And don't miss the fabulously funky video and giveaway on right now. :)

  4. Oh my goodness, I'm with Yanet. When I saw the little graveside with the cross and flowers, I though how sad but how sweet. We had little funerals and buried our pets in our backyard growing up. It was really kind of special. Hope your heart heals soon.

  11. I feel your pain, we lost our Bo (dog) a couple of years ago, and it was one of the saddest days, month, years! Now we have Murphy and she's such a love, I think she understands every word that I say...except sit, fetch, stay...well you get the point!
    Sorry for your loss,

  12. Donna I am sitting here with one dog whining to get into another room and one named Bear snoring so loud she sounds like a real bear hibernating and the third snuggled closely feeling a little under the weather. Last night she had a seizure and it scarred me to death. I thought I was watching watching her die in my arms. They are so special! I have lived my entire life with a dog and don't ever intend to be without one. I am so sorry for your loss I know how you feel!

  15. Hi Donna, thank you for allowing me to crash your charming party! First off to say, I have two pets, Kai (a boxer) and Ozzy ( an Australian Zebra Finch) and I adore both. My Dog, Kai, knows I'm her Mommy and there is no one else she loves more. My Bird Ozzy, sings when he hears my voice, I can laugh, or talk and he starts to break into song, and if I sing, he sings along, it never ceases to amaze me how such tiny creatures can have such gigantic affects on us Humans. Thanks for the lovely post, tami

  18. I am so very sorry for your loss. I wrote about the "lost/found" story of my precious Tesla. She changed my life. She passed ten years ago and there is still a hole in my heart. One day I am certain, she will be waiting for me at the gates of Heaven.
    You are in my prayers.

  23. I am so sorry for your loss Donna. I must have missed that post about Beethoven. I found something for you. It's the story about the Rainbow Bridge.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

    Author unknown...

We have one pet, Sheba. I swear she is a horse in a dog's costume. She does love to follow me around and is usually close by. When I cook, she loves to sit and put her head on the counter to watch me. I noticed one time that the poor girl must have gotten bored and fell asleep like that. Pretty soon there was a thud. There she was stretched out on the kitchen floor, sound asleep! She's so crazy! I'll have to make a post about my baby!

  34. Oh Donna - I am so sorry for your loss. It always leaves a big hole in our hearts. What a wonderful way to honor your precious cat. The pic with your sweet puppy and the cross and flowers brought a few tears and memories of pets I have lost. Thank you for reminding us to enjoy the times we can with these special guys.
I call mine my First Responders. They are the first to be by my side whether I am laughing or crying or sick or just plain frazzled! God Bless them all.
And thank you not only for this Pet Party but for helping me realize I don't have a single picture of me with my precious pets. Love your photo with you beautiful guy. I'm making one tomorrow and taking my biggest wild man for a ride in the country. He thanks you too :)

  35. So sorry for your loss. What a good age to live to: 18!! I wish ours would stick around that long. Living on a small farm makes tragedy to cats too common for my heart. Our dog is 12 1/2 and in terrible shape. He's been my first baby: our mutual Valentine's Day gift the first year we were married. He's been with me through my husband's deployment to Iraq, all of my children's arrivals into our house and growing up to ages where "Fido" is one of their first words. I so wish pets could live on much longer than they do. I don't know what I'll do without his constant following me around when he's gone. Oh, great. I better end before I bawl all over my keyboard!!!

  36. You know he is still watching over you.
We all know he will never be forgotten.

  37. Just wanted to express my sympathy for the loss of your friend. I do believe that beloved pets go to a special place & that we'll get to see them again! I agree that photos of homes & projects look even better with a dog or cat in them. My dog, Sam, sneaks into every photo he can!

    Warmly, MIchelle
