I recently discovered a website that provides amazing inspiration.
Pinterest is a site that allows you to 'pin' any picture on the net, and place it in your own special collection. You can even pin other's pin choices to your own.
The neat thing is, not only are all of one's pins shared with others, the photos all link back to the originator.
I had trouble signing in, so I'll try and mess with it another day. Hence, not all the pics will be linked back to their originators this round. However all these photos did come from Pinterest.
Enjoy my own personal tour of what made me go WOW.
While this isn't a real bike, I could see plant madness on a vintage special.
These remind me of soap bubbles. How could you not smile?
The pastels remind me of an icecream store. Isn't this pretty?
Now this is one unique wall collection!
Great wall and desk! Wonderful texture.
Adorable dollhouse shelving.
What a great drafting table.. AND stool.
Check out this fabulous kitchen island.
Eclectic lights, random chairs, tons of texture, what's not to love? The vaulted ceiling makes this space extra special.
Crate drawers!
Simple yet effective shoe storage.
The dark wall is so striking against the whites.
Tea tins for plants! Sweet!
Love the chalkboard and the sliding door.
Pinterest. Fair warning.. it's addicting. :)
UPDATE: No idea how I got it to work, but I did! I can't wait to add more more more! Can't wait to start pinning from SNS parties. :)
My so far small but inspiring board is HERE
So... once you join up, jump on back here and tell us about your new addiction. I see MANY of you on there pinning like mad! :)

I love the pink fridge and the cupcake sign!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love that kitchen island. I thought of you the other day when I found some old wine crates in my garage left by a previous owner. I thought...I should do something with those...Donna sure would. I might bring them into the house.
ReplyDeletePretty cool! I checked it out, don't know how to use it yet... But it seems awesome! Thanks for opening my eyes. :)
ReplyDeleteThese ideas are so creative and the photos beautiful. Love the "ice cream" kitchen! I'll have to check this site out...thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Donna!!!
ReplyDeleteYou've found some great ideas here..love them all!!!

ReplyDeleteOMGoodness! I don't need another thing to be addicted too.
ReplyDeleteBut thanks anyway, I'm on my way there.
Enjoy your day~KarenSue
I just love all these rooms makes me want to redo everything

The teacup pendant lights with the industrial vibe are what caught my eye...thanks Donna, gonna check it out.
ReplyDeleteOh my eye-candy goodness! I think you've hit the motherload!
ReplyDeleteEach picture is better than the last. I HAVE TO HAVE that teacup light fixture. No doubt.
I love that work area with all the different lights above it, and the desk that looks eerily similar to your new one.
What I'd like to know is, did you use a search word to find these images on Pinterest, and if so , what was it? Or, is this like Tumbler where you go find the pictures yourself and just 'pin' them to your page?
The minute I get time, I'm going to check this out.
What a fantastic assortment of pictures you've posted! Swoon, swoon, swoon.
Great way to save inspirational pics without clogging your hard drive! I love the Cupcake Kitchen, the soft pink is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHi Donna-
ReplyDeleteI found the site a few weeks ago and had trouble getting an account, also. I forgot all about it. I think it looks like such a great site for all us visual girls to share beautiful images.
My best- Diane
Definite EYE CANDY!! Thanks for sharing Donna!
ReplyDeleteI love Pinterest, too. However, when I search a word, I seem to only get a limited result with a lot of repeat photos...not sure why! Love the photos that you found!
ReplyDeleteI've died and gone to heaven...such beautiful work! I am heading over there right now! Just Divine!
ReplyDeleteI am sooooo in love with all those pictures!!! What an awesome site! Thanks for introducing me to it!
ReplyDeleteThat shoe storage makes me swoon!!! Heavenly!!
ReplyDeleteHa I love how you gravitate to all the crates and I defintely can see you doing those fabulous drawers. Love the island too....I can see how this would be addicting, going to have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteRobin, I haven't figured it all out yet either. However if you click on someone's name, you get their pins so that's how I dig abit deeper.
ReplyDeleteDonna
Such creativity.

The human imagination is limitless!
ReplyDeleteIsn’t Pintrest amazing! I could spend endless hours one there. Some much talent and creativity one place for out viewing…..it’s a genius idea.
ReplyDeleteKendra aka “Domestic Princess in Training”
WOW! Such cool ideas!
ReplyDeleteI signed up for Pinterest too. Walked around a bit and then ran out of there. My golly that place is addictive. If I wanted to get anything done, and any post written I just couldn't hang out there anymore. I will be back though, I am sure. Only thing I couldn't figure out was how to do a proper search. Whenever I searched for something I got the same picture a gazzilion times because it was repinned so often. Must be something I did.
ReplyDeleteI saw that tea tin picture too. I had some tea tins in my Goodwill pile at the time, picked then straight out again. See dangerous that place :-)
Marianne, I've noticed many don't properly tag their inspiration, so when I put in crates, I got some art project that derived from a site with 'crates' in the title, not the project.
ReplyDeleteTag your inspiration appropriately so the search works?!? I think it draws up nothingness to fill in the gaps when there isn't anything to grab.
I'm REALLY late for work now. LOL And wish I could redo this post. I have some amazing new stuff! :)
Donna
Oh my!
ReplyDeleteThat glasses chandy, and the long desk, and those crates!
I belong to Pinterest, too.
But, I've been having issues "pinning" stuff. I'm a tech by trade, so you'd think I'd be able to make it work. Right now it's taking too long and is hit or miss for me.
So, I'll wait.
At some point, whatever the bug is will be remedied. And, I'll gladly get back on board.
I love the concept!
You MUST make a barbed wire chandy! That is SO you! I think I must too. :o)
ReplyDeleteI love Pinterest but when I tried to join I was informed that it is in Beta Testing and that I would be put on a waiting list.... :( Found some things on yours that I love.... but REALLY want to set up my own board so my dearest and I can see what we agree on for the addition (and so I can start planning!!!)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteI will go right now and check it out.
What a great idea,
:)
So many unique and fun ideas to try!! Thanks for featuring it. I signed up.
ReplyDeleteI am a pinterest newbie...I fought it as long as I could...but ALL my friends were doing it and I couldn't take the pressure anymore. I repinned a couple of yours!! =)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely LOVE your blog.. following with glee and soo excited to get to browse and follow along your wonderful inspirations.. I'm Marilyn visitng from http://theartsygirlconnection.blogspot.com/ Love for you to stop by sometime.. Off to indulge in more of your work... :))))
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and I LOVE your style!
ReplyDeleteI am having trouble getting on the site too. It sounds like you have to be invited somehow or the other.
ReplyDeleteHow in the world did you get on so quick? I still haven't figured out how to get my own board!
ReplyDeleteJust a heads up, any anonymous comments without a lead to an email will be deleted.
ReplyDeleteOne anon comment suggested that Pinterest didn't link back to the original photographer. Pinterest links back to the originator that posted the pic. So it's up to the person that posted the photo to label where the photo came from.
And it seems some of you are signing on right away and some have to wait. I did forget to mention I was one that had to wait for an invite. So sorry I forgot to mention that!! Whoops... The wait was only a few days.
Donna
Do I have to list everything I like, can I just say ditto! Check out this new online catalog that I found and some of my favs.

ReplyDeleteVery cool! I'm in love with many of the projects!
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos, Donna. They don't have a single thing on YOU, tho. A couple of desks/tables looks like they copied YOU. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, excuse me but I have NO idea what pinning is..you must remember, I am the olden one of the bunch so it takes me awhile to figure out what the heck is going on....:)
ReplyDeleteLove the center island and the sliding "barn" door pantry. So many cool pictures and tons of inspiration.
