SNS #75 features burlap this weekend!

Welcome to Saturday Nite Special #75!

75?!? 75!! SNS... yer gettin' old. :)

If you're new here, join in! There are three categories to link to. Home Decor as well as Crafts, Sewing, Recipes, plus the 3rd themed link up which stays open indefinitely. Check below for this weekend's theme.

Party starts Fri night and ends Sunday 11pm pacific, so you have all weekend to join!

I'll be featuring SNS highlights during the weekend on FJI Facebook, so join in and see what they're all saying about your stuff. :)

this weekend's theme

~ burlap ~

It's itchy to the touch. It's difficult to wash. What's to love about the stuff? Plenty. :)

The material is wonderfully organic with the most amazing texture, and works so well with rustic and upscale interiors.

I just know the following images will have you snipping away at some burlap scraps in no time!

All photos are linked to Pinterest.

aren't these coasters darling?

the flowers dress this plain lampshade right up!

LOVE the bold graphics in black. I'll take the black box too please.

how cute would these be as mini pin cushions?

oh my. i just love the juxtaposition of the organic with the frilly. the bright white ruffle is truly the icing on the cake here.

bows! and crumply. love it.

aren't the ivory bows the perfect finishing touch to the antique white letters?
and let's also add a pallet wood background to the mix... swoon!!

this little number couldn't decide whether to go to the local yokel barn dance or a wedding, so she dressed up for both! isn't this awesome? i want my wing chairs to resemble this! all scrappy like to the max.

the sign reads right. you do need this. ask me how i know.

My friend Denisie whipped up this little sweetheart for me.

And  lucky for you, the pattern's avail to purchase if you so desire! Click HERE if interested.

And don't hate me because I have this pillow but I do. I've featured it many times on FJI. It was a gift from Missy over at The Little Green Bean.  Missy is infamous for all of her burlap creations she sells in her Etsy shop.

i don't exactly know what this is, but i don't care. i want it! wouldn't this be a wild curtain, quilt cover, lampshade, shower curtain, anything?

i'm not much of a purse person but i would proudly tote this around! funky. :)

S

coolest headboard ever. i think i may have just inspired myself towards a new bedroom makeover...

oh how cool. imagine these also on your Christmas tree!

Was I right? Are you convinced you can no longer live without burlap?
Let's see your own burlap creations in this weekend's 3rd themed linkup!

~ SNS blah blah linkup rules ~

Has your link been removed? Please reread the rules and try again! :)

1. Please link up your intended post, NOT your blog homepage url. (post, then click the title of your post, then cut and paste that url)

 2. Please put a link in your post (button or text) that leads back to the party so others can see what's up. (see BUTTONS label under main blog header)

 3. This party is geared for DIY type projects we can all attempt to make ourselves. Items for sale may be linked up IF your entry is posted on your blog and in tutorial style.

4. For Home Decor and Crafts, Sewing, Cooking, please link projects up that are new to SNS and/or within 1 month old. Repeat linkups will be removed.

The 3rd weekly themed link may have older posts and not brand new to SNS and will remain open for your new additions at any time. Click HERE for the main list.

If you can't decide which category to enter yours in, please just pick ONE and go with it. It's all good!

Come on over and see if we're talking about you this weekend. :)

New! Links will be shown in reverse order this weekend.
The last link added will be #1.
I'm such a rebel... :)

UPDATE: Back to normal! The change cause too much confusion. The linkups are officially back in order again. Thanks for trying it out!

  22. Donna, your blog is such a haven of fun and comfort. Don't know why I haven't left a note telling you before. When life is just too crazy I fix myself a cup of tea and love visiting to see what adventures you're having.

Not sure about the decorating book world, but I hear in the romance book world, sometimes those contracts can take a while...:)

  23. Hey Donna, I have had that burplap hanging shade in my files for a long time now but didn't know who it belonged to. I don't think it is storiesfromatoz. When you click on that link it takes you to the shades she did for her kitchen, totally different. It seems everyone is copying her link for that shade but it doesn't match up. Any ideas who's it really is? I would love to use it for an inspiration I am doing but want to give the right credit.

  24. I love the burlap theme...although I don't have anything made up of burlap at this time I use it a lot for in my photos for my designs. It makes a great back drop and adds great texture to the photos.

Thanks for hosting this fun party...I love looking at all of the awesome links.

  37. You rebel you!!! Totally threw me for a loop!! I kept thinking it wasn't working!! Thanks for hosting! :)

  38. I love the look of burlap, but I think I am doing something wrong--like when I cut burlap, it makes a huge mess! And its so rough rough rough! How can you sit on it or even use as a pillow? Is it just for deco only maybe? Can you wash it...maybe that makes it softer? Oh help me! I bought 10 yards of it when it was on sale, but I just can't get past it's flaws....

  39. I love the crumply shade and the headboard. I always appreciated the texture of burlap but only used it for upholstery. But this post has opened my eyes to so many more possibilities. Thanks so much!

  42. Awe!! I really love these photos. They're casual but totally "primped" up. If that makes any sense lol. Basically I'm saying that the designs of the pieces are very feminine and just feel dainty. Totally in love with them though. Thank you for sharing. :) Norah

  44. UPDATE: Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. I started the linkups to go up in the reverse order for something new to try. It wasn't working out, way too much confusion. So, I changed it back.

This party is officially deemed out of control. Wow... check out all those linkups!

Thanks so much everyone. You make this party what it is.
