~ your Christmas full home reveals ~
The most common comment I received during my own full home Christmas reveal was, "I like your style!"
#1. Thank-you!
#2. I wish everyone felt that way. You see, this is what I go through each time I lift a finger towards a junk artifact.
me - "Hey son, let's decorate for Christmas
son - "Yay! Just not Funky Junk! I want NORMAL like OTHER people."
Boy was he talkin' to the wrong person. ;)
Boy was he talkin' to the wrong person. ;)
This junk did not please my son.
Until it was done.
Now, if you think I have it easy because I don't have to convince a spouse that junk is the new distressed glazed heirloom white, allow me to correct you. I indeed have big time proving to do in this here house!
And should that fail...
Divert their attention to something else. A good movie on TV works wonders.
Dang! I missed this one! :)
My own full Christmas home reveal was HERE.
I can't wait to see yours!
How do you convince your family that JUNK is KING in decorating these days?
Do they 'let' you, or fight you?
December deals from FJI sponsors!

Thanks so much for hosting!!!!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh Donna when you said your son wants "normal" decor for Christmas....Well my kids think those big holiday yard blow up things are cool. Does that mean I am going to decorate according to their requests...NOT!! Ha Ha!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend....
Lisa
Sometimes I feel like I'm selling our teen on my ideas, too!! Just tonight she said "Doesn't that look really vintage, I mean Mom, I thought you were getting something a little more modern." Oh well, we know they love us! Thanks for hosting, Donna!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Andrea
Thanks for hosting a Holiday-filled party!!!

Hi Donna! I love your Christmas decor! What you do requires so much creativity and imagination...plus a lot of love! It's easy to walk in the store and buy it off the shelf! It will be appreciated one day...with a little time! May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteThanks for another hosting weekend. I linked up to the 'decor' and added a link back to the Partayyy in my post. Hope the traffic is heavy!

I was cracking up while reading your post Donna! My 11 year old son is always rolling his eyes at me because I'm painting something, AGAIN. Lately he keeps telling me "normal moms don't decorate all the time". I told him if decorating is wrong, I don't want to be right. Well, I thought it was funny, him, not so much! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to link up my naughty or nice tag. Thumbnails was difficult last week so I'm glad it showed up this week.
ReplyDeleteI love your decorations! It's funny because my 14yo is constantly asking why I "can't be normal like other moms?"
ReplyDeleteLove, love love your holiday rooms! Junky fabulous for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so fabulous!!
Hugs

Donna,
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting this fun event! This is my first time to participate and I love all the links. Have a wonderful holiday!
One day in the future I have a feeling your boy will look back and realize what a clever, inventive mom he has. Normal gets boring after a while, creativity is always in style.
ReplyDeleteI think having a spouse's input is easier to disregard than our children's... I agree with Bonita 100% Can't wait to check out all the links! wow there are a lot.
ReplyDeleteWow, Donna, I LOVE your funky junk Christmas style! You are so creative and I especially loved the picnic coffee table, your clever ornaments, and the card ladder. I could never come up with those ideas!
ReplyDeleteThats too funny!! "normal decorations" haha! Thanks so much for hosting!! I LOVE your non normal style! :)
ReplyDeleteYOU? Not NORMAL?

ReplyDelete(which is kinda scary, actually) NO! IT. IS. NOT!!!! I LOVE IT!!! just wish I had more time in the day!
My husband is not a fan of pink... He won't let me decorate with pink! Makes me sad!
ReplyDeleteI just love to see what everyone else is doing for Christmas! Thanks for sharing and hosting...I "linked up" :)
ReplyDeleteMy hubby is all for the junk in my decorating...he especially loves anything cheap or free...haha! My son used to get into it but lately has been saying "when I have my own house I want everything new" Hmmmm...could it be I've been spending a little too much time with my junk? And my 3 year year old daughter likes everything her "mama" likes...I'll enjoy that while it lasts :)
Merry Christmas! Laurel@chippingwithcharm
