Over at Vintage Simple, Maria created these fabulous french style doors FROM her bifolds! You will love this idea.
Before and After.
First, the bifold doors were taken apart to create two panels. Beadboard was cut to size and attached with glue and nails over the louvered parts.
Trim was then added to the outer edges.
Next, they were rehung like french doors. Then primed and painted.
Beautiful glass knobs were later added to give the doors a real vintage vibe. The colour used was a soft cornflower type blue leftover from another room.

How about you?
Got a cool door project from your own home to share? Feel free to also link that up to the rest of the SNS party fun or just comment about it!
Blah blah rules for the SNS linkup:
1. Please link up your intended post, NOT your main blog. (post, then click on title of your post, cut and paste that url)
2. Please put a link in your post that leads back to the party so others can see what's up! (scroll button on sidebar if you wish)
3. I've allowed 75 characters in the link title area, so go ahead and tell us your blog name AND project description. There's room. :)

*4. This party is geared for *DIY type projects we can all attempt to make ourselves. Items for sale may be linked up IF your entry is posted on your blog and in tutorial style (unless making the item is self explanatory).

I'm drooling!
ReplyDeleteI just love the idea of making the closet doors into a french style, vintage looking pair of doors. So much better! I have an awkward linen closet without a door on it in my bathroom. I think a single door of this style would be perfect. Great inspiration!
