This here 'lil blog is receiving lots of new visits. I realize Funky Junk Interiors is a peculiar name for a blog. So why don't I show you around since you came all the way to Canada?
Can I take your flannel coat?
Offer you coffee or a latte? (fresh salmon didn't sound nearly as enticing)
Cool! Come on in then, eh? :)
farm table styled desk
My deal is decorating. And I like building with reclaimed lumber. Like, a lot. So I started making my own furniture out of pallet boards and lumber from here and there.

pallet wardrobe wall
But it was hard to stop at just furniture so I also hung it on my bedroom wall.

pallet wood outdoor sofa
Yeah, I made a sofa too. But I have a secret to share with you. I'm not this amazing builder that knows everything. I just get wild ideas in my head, then find a way to make it while encouraging others to be brave themselves.
I don't know what half the tools are called that I use. I'm still messed up with Rob and that other guy that invented screwdriver tips. Star and square make much more sense, don't you think?
The way I see it, if I knew how to do everything, then I'd be someone to envy maybe. But because I don't, I teach as soon as I've learned something new. I think not knowing things has actually been a gift. :)
toilet paper crate
I like junky stuff. But not just any junk such as broken plastic toilet seats. (hold that thought...) I gravitate towards vintage and antique old relics, then throw them together to create interesting combinations.
And yes, I like things that are not toilet themed too.
Creative combinations fuel me, especially if I haven't seen them done before. Let me show you what I mean.

Full home tour HERE
As you can see, I'm not a very serious decorator. I create out of things I enjoy looking at. I don't know what this season's hottest colours will be because basically put, my shopping transpires in places that don't really cater to that kind of thing.
rust graveyard tour
Not many places can compete with this. :)
I. Just. Like. Junk. and turning it into not so junky things.
And so is my Facebook page.
I do other things too. I dabble in photography although I still have a ton to learn.
Winter 2012
I also write for other publications and hope to write a full blown book one day.
I guess you could say I'm a little all over the map. I do lots of things. But one of my biggest joys is this blog community. My followers inspire ME to keep pushing myself to do more than I did yesterday. And I couldn't be more pleased to have found a more perfect place to share the joy of what I do here.
You can read more about my own story and other things I do at my ABOUT ME page as well.
Anyway, thanks for your visit and I hope you enjoyed a little glimpse into my world. :)
