this weekend's theme
~ kitchen cabinet ideas ~
I had to include this. It's just too rustically luscious not to! :)
So who needs cabinets when you can have industrial shelving with the coolest metal baskets possible?
Can't decide on what kind of cabs to have? The eclectic look above will take care of that! Love all these tones together. Wonderful.
If you like rustic vintage, I gotcha covered. Everything under the sun is put together and the outcome is a total romantic stunner. Those upper cabs are amazing, as is that sink. FUN!
Flea Market Trixie goes for the open shelf concept and comes out with an absolute stunning result.
Crisp white cabinets lighten and brighten the area, with loads of unique detail to make this kitchen one of a kind. I just adore how the dark counter tops anchor all the brightness. And isn't that floor amazing?!? Gorgeous!
You can see the full kitchen reveal HERE.
Stuck with old wooden cabs? Here's a great fix!
This gorgeous kitchen is The Lettered Cottage's most recent amazing kitchen makeover. Today's 2 toned cabs with some open concept shelving give the illusion that different cabs are indeed placed together for that fun eclectic vibe.
You can check out the kitchen tutorial video and reveal post HERE.
These next few photos are rather daring but intriguing all the same.
The pictures below are all linked to Pinterest.
And then there's the rustic crate experience. These are fabricated out of authentic crate skins. I'd love to do a reproduction of this to my garage style cabs.
Have you done anything interesting to your own kitchen cabinets?
Link it up in this weekend's 3rd themed linkup!
Just curious.. if you could have any type of kitchen cabs you desired, what would they look like?

ReplyDeleteAnother awesome theme Donna! Thanks so much for hosting this each week, I love seeing what gets posted!
ReplyDeleteWell I am a step behind as I am working on my cabinets right now...they are coming along pretty cool too. At any rate the cabinets I would love to have in my kitchen are by Habersham and they were recently featured on the cover of BHG Beautiful Kitchens and Bath in the Winter edition. Elegant but rustic, they were incredible!
ReplyDeleteI'm so touched by your post about your mother. I lost mine 15 months ago but I still feel that she's with me in spirit. Thanks for your sharing your heartfelt words to her.
ReplyDeleteYou must have been reading my mind, Donna, because I am in need of some cabinet inspiration right now. Thanks for the link party and all of the great pictures!

So many great ideas! Thanks for hostessing.
ReplyDeleteYou have one of the most wonderful, informative, inspirational blogs on the Web; so glad that I'm following you. I just love it! I do not have a DIY blog post to share, but I do hope that you can swing by my blog and share this post for my get-together on decor, recipes, garden, and crafts.....anything that's a fresh and/or seasonal post.....you cover so much too!
ReplyDeleteWe are planning a major reno this spring to totally gut our 1972 kitchen! I am so excited but can't seem to get rolling with it. It's a little overwhelming. I'm always looking for ideas but when you live in a small house, open concept living/dining room and a small kitchen it's hard to find something that will work. I have chosen Shaker style cabinets in coconut (white)and will keep our appliances but we are purchasing a dish washer (never had one!!) and an above range microwave. There will be glass windows at the tops of the ceiling height cabinets for dust free display :-) New ceramic heated flooring will be laid too. So it's out with the old and in with the new. I'll be blogging about it when I get started. I hope you have a wonderful time of R & R with your son this week. Blessings, Pamela
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting Donna!!! All linked up~ have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! That one kitchen is like mydream kitchen. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat Pics! I have been working on my kitchen and am ready to paint my cabinets. They are hardly top of the line and are getting dingy and tired. I plan on painting them chocolate brown with an overcoat of Antique white. I will the distress them a bit to bring through the chocolate. Hope it looks as good as I am seeing it in my mind's eye!
ReplyDeleteOh my...my fave in the rustic vintage kitchen. It makes me drool.
ReplyDeleteThat pallet plate rack is divine. Probably won't be passing up too many pallets now. Now that I want one, they will all hide.
Love this SNS...my kitchen cabs getting a new color this Spring I hope. This will be great for referencing.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww baby! I'll tale any one of those kitchens!!!!
ReplyDeletem ^..^
Donna!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! That top pic- the tiny pallet with the tiny dishes - looks like those are China Butter Pats! I collect those...and you almost never see em.
That's such a fantastic rustic way to display them. Mine are in an Amish Cherry mini curio cabinet.
(Get it, mini cabinet, makes em look like they're full sized plates and Martian with his Ray-gun shrank 'em!)
Oh, my. Mights be time to make/find a mini pallet.
This post was really amazing. I love the kitchen it was very elegant and beautiful. You had a great mind. Thank you for this wonderful post. I am looking forward on your next cool post.
