NEW!

The TWIG themed linkup has been reopened and will stay open to encourage new twig linkups.
Forever. :)

Please stay tuned for other awesome upcoming changes to help inspire you!

Welcome to Saturday Nite Special #55, the sticks / twigs / branches edition!

If you're new here, join in! There are three categories to link to. Home Decor as well as Crafts, Sewing, Recipes, plus the 3rd themed link up. Check below for this weekend's theme.

Party starts Fri night and ends Sunday 11pm pacific, so you have all weekend to join!

I LOVE to highlight inspiring posts during the event on the sidebar, so make sure you check in several times over the weekend. You may be next. :)
~ This weekend's themed link up ~

twigs / branches / sticks

I totally love twiggy type things. They are elements of nature that add rustic flair to whatever they're near, wouldn't you agree?

This spikey little number's totally made her rounds. :)

This larger twig style wreath is currently embracing the fireplace mantel. I just love the long spindly lengths whipping around and around.

The next few ideas are on the 'unique' side.

Here's a shot of my 2009 mantel decor.
I was really happy when my neighbor pruned their tree that day. :)

And here's a little trick you can use on a regular type wreath. Add a plain grapevine variety behind, then add twig tips everywhere else. It really adds presence to an otherwise standard schmandard wreath.

So... wanna see my NEW twiggy reveal? Ok!

First, I had to go shopping for stock. So I visited my backyard.

Hmm... would willow branches work? Eh... why not. Sure!

And I have plenty of grapevines waiting to be used for something cool. So... ready?!?

I just whipped this up during the commercials of Survivor. Can't waste DIY time you know. Do you like it? Oh.. and my new ceiling made during the commercials of Desperate Housewives is made out of old palette boards.

I WISH!

Sorry, I didn't do this at all. This beauty was spotted in a souvenir store in Harrison Hot Springs, BC Canada. It was more important for me to photograph this than eat that day. I was a jumpin' fool begging to take photos of these glorified indoor branches.

BUT!!! I love it so much I have indeed been messing around with my own version of a twig chandy using willow branches and grapevines. But I couldn't finish it in time. So... stay tuned for that reveal hopefully soon! (if it turns out...)

Have you done anything creative with sticks/twigs/branches lately?
Bring it on in the 3rd themed linkup!

Next weekend - numbers

Have you joined the number craze and have these guys strewn all over? Or have you made any yourself? Make'em or bring'em next weekend!

~ SNS blah blah linkup rules ~

1. Please link up your intended post, NOT your blog homepage url. (post, then click the title of your post, cut and paste that url) If your post has been deleted, please try again.

2. Please put a link in your post (button or text) that leads back to the party so others can see what's up! (see BUTTONS label under main blog header)

 3. This party is geared for DIY type projects we can all attempt to make ourselves. Items for sale may be linked up IF your entry is posted on your blog and in tutorial style.

4. For Home Decor and Crafts, Sewing, Cooking, please link projects up that are new to SNS and within 1 month old.  This helps keep content fresh! The 3rd weekly themed link may have older posts and not brand new to SNS.

If you can't decide which category to enter yours in, please just pick ONE and go with it. It's all good!

  15. #10 Kim, thank-you! No I didn't realize they messed up. May have been due to the cutting and pasting of the html. Whoops!

Thanks for the kudos, friends! To actually think some of you thought I was serious about weaving that $5000 creation during commercial breaks really makes me think you think I'm better than I think! :) Thanks anyway!

  43. You had me going there for a moment. I really thought 'this can't be true!', and of course it wasn't. Poeh, I am glad because that would really have added to my inferiority complex.
So sorry I didn't make the branches link up. I thought about that post all week and then got a serious case of the cold and didn't get around to it anymore.
I will be there next week! With bells on!!!
