This folded up vinyl is the sign of a beautiful thing.
For taking down the backyard smurf pool was loooong overdue. (our summers are only 2 months long.. if lucky)
And I gotta tell ya, this is not my favorite job.
I scrub everything down. And then it has to be held down because it was a windy day. But the BIG deal is, it has to dry before it gets folded. And since it rains every other day here... well...
It's a sad day indeed when your befores are BETTER than your afters. :)
Good grief this was HEAVY.
It's done! And gone for another 10 months. Yipeee!
(tip for backyard pools that kill grass: put the trampoline in that spot when pool is gone)
Oh.. wait. I still have to take apart that ladder. Darned picture reminder.
And this part.. was still drying out. And then it started raining so I THREW it into an overstuffed garage because I was on my way to work. I promise! I'll 'find' it and fold it and gitter done 100%. Soon!
~ CHORE GITTER DONE? ~
I'm honestly leaning towards having Gitter Done completely non decorating so it better separates traditional link up parties. Just boring duty/job/chore type stuff. Gutting your closets, cleaning up a room or garage, dumping out your junk drawer, weeding horrid flower beds, cleaning out your vehicle... you get the idea. I mean, by all means, stage your finished project if you wish, but you can only stage a vehicle interior so much. :)
What do you think?
Please watch the comments and the poll below. The next Gitter Done may be decorator free. I'll decide by majority vote.
So, what did you finally get to this round? Let's see whatcha got in the linkup below!

Love this idea!! Except now I feel guilty about all the things I've been procrastinating on lately. I guess that's the point :-) Ok... I'll get to it!! Hopefully I'll be linking up soon!
ReplyDeleteI have a giveaway going on right now so hop on over if you want!! http://joyisathome.blogspot.com

Very cool Suzy! Glad to have you aboard! :)

Glad u got the pool down! But I have to admit I was really disappointed when I read this post!! For some reason I read the title as 'glitter done' and I was thinking WTH! There's NO glitter here @ funky junk! I've been bamboozled!! But nope, turns out I just can't read! Ha! Love the idea of chore day, btw!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for tackling a somewhat unpleasant task. I did the same.
ReplyDeleteOver the last couple of days I tackled my office. Whew! I almost completely emptied the closet and rearranged cubicles in there to hold my inventory. I downsized a four drawer file cabinet to a 1' file box! Plus, I did some other decluttering and general organizing. I still have a little to do, but this is definite progress toward my desire for a simpler life.
We had one of those pools a few years back and what a pain in the tush putting it away at the end of the season. We've stepped up with Intex's soft wall pool with the steel poles. We can keep it up. Yay! Our swimming seaon down here in NC runs from May through September. A little longer for us.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of chores and ugly jobs category. I have a few ape sized chores coming up and will be linking it up to the next gitter done. we just sold our NH house and have to close in mid Nov (the one with the shed that I cleaned out) and with that goes the territory of which furniture to sell, keep, or giveaway. I might even put on an estate sale which I have never done, so that is another biggie chore. We won't be hiring a mover, so it will be a gitter done candidate for sure.
ReplyDeleteOh man. i DO NOT envy your task here, but your photos are beautiful! I just moved into a large house with a pool and , boy, it is a lot of work! I appreciate you sharing your experience :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting. I like the idea that it is a chore type of thing. Sometimes you have to blog about the ugly, you know? Your pics are beautiful though. :)
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm so glad I double read the title. When I first saw the button around your blog, I thought it said GLITTER Done. I thought it was some kind of craft project involving glitter! I had a project I had done I was thinking of blogging about for it and everything!! How long can I blame mommyhood for my ditzyness? I'm thinking forever, right?!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting the pool down and put away. That is a huge task!! So woot!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI will have to think about what I am going to do! So many things to choose from.
Sigh!
Hugs

Donna, your challenge really does help me to get things done. I haven't posted for a while, but read my post and you'll see why. So, my vote is non decorative(yes I voted)chores, ugly job stuff. Thanks for being so Gitter Done-like ;)
ReplyDeleteBoy that is a lot of work to get that thing down each season! I like the idea the chores since we all have so many unglamorous things that need to get done which are are putting off to blog! I did clean out our garage last week but forgot to take pictures!
ReplyDeleteI'd also like to say that I liked that yellow cushion that was painted but I could not figure out how to comment on her blog. Sorry.
